Made once a year in June-July when the tea leafhopper (a type of aphid) visits the gardens during the summer rainy season. The leafhopper draws juices out of the tender tea leaves, initiating early withering and oxidation. Prior to harvest, this slow-crafted tea is withered on the plants for 1-2 days until the leaves display the correct range of colors, including hues of purple, red, brown, white and orange. Ingredients: oolong tea.
